Proud 2019: Pre-Atlanta Black Pride Dinner Engagement
If it is indeed true that Atlanta influences everything, and that there’s a first time for everything - then I just set a historic holiday scene and made a new sect of believers, simultaneously, in one of my favorite lifestyle industries – spirits.
As a precursor to the annual Atlanta Black Pride festival held Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, I partnered with Woodford Reserve for the inaugural “Proud” celebration dinner. After deciding that Buckhead Atlanta would be the setting and that the engagement would commence at Southern Art, a carefully vetted list of honorees - to included forces in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, education and society - was decided and voila, the evening was qualified.
The evening, in totality, would include conversation over craft cocktails, the premiere presentation of new blends from Woodford Reserve and most importantly, intentional acknowledgements of the strides and successes that have been made by our guests of honor.
Because pictures are worth a thousand words, indulge in the photos from the lens of honoree and photographer, ChristopherJamar Payne, that detail the night perfectly. If that’s not enough, we’ve included video too. Like Luther said, there’s “never too much” of a good thing!
